Broiled Turkey Thigh with Fall Flavors

Thigh meat is your friend! It’s tender, juicy, and never disappointing. Autumn is my favorite season and Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday so I thought I’d experiment with some different seasonings for this festive bird dish. If you don’t want all those Thanksgiving dinner leftovers or you’re only cooking for yourself or for two, then this meal is right up your alley.

2 turkey thighs
Extra Virgin Olive oil

Remove the skin from the thigh meat
Drizzle with olive oil
Season with salt, pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg and thyme
Broil for about 20 minutes

The seasonings mixed with the oil and broiling create a crust directly on the meat and the flavors of the cinnamon and nutmeg blend beautifully with the traditional turkey seasoning of thyme. Your kitchen will smell so good your mouth will be watering!
Serve this on a bed of roasted leeks and a side of acorn squash and you will have transformed your Thanksgiving supper! See my blog “For the Love of Leeks” and “Cinnamon-Nutmeg Acorn Squash” for these side dish recipes.
